Pinoy Sports Idols kicks off its 10th Season with the pride of Calaca, Batangas -- Palarong Pambansa 2009 Steeple Chase Gold Medalist and 5,000 Meter Run Bronze Medalist Nickson Cuyom! Join us, as our ace athlete-slash-model student shares how he continues to run towards his dreams, in this sports reality program hosted by Taekwondo champion and celebrity endorser, Japoy Lizardo! Quezon City's Taekwondo Sweetheart Bags Season 9 Ultimate Idol Title


A charming athlete from Quezon City proves that despite her soft features and sweet personality, she could still dominate the world of full contact sports, with her amazing skills and mind blowing moves in Taekwondo. Charizza Camille Alombro has definitely caught everyone's attention. This Anne Hathaway look-alike is living proof that beauty, brains, athletic skills, and a pleasing personality can be found in a single person -- which is why it comes to no surprise that she was hailed Pinoy Sports Idols Season 9 Ultimate Idol!
Alombro bested Ilocos Norte's Triple Jump athlete, Florence Acasio, and General Santos' Taekwondo champion, May Shayne Marangga, during the 9th Season's Finale, last June 24 at the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Hyatt.
The finalists were judged by Mr. Frederick Nasiad of Abante, Dr. Anne Quizon, PhD, of the Department of Education, and Mr. Dexter Araquel, Executive Produer of Pinoy Sports Idols. The Top Three Idols were awarded with certificates, and a trophy for the Ultimate Idol, by Mr. Basil Pernia, Branch Manager of PAGCOR Hyatt.
Alombro, Marangga, and Alombro, will receive a college scholarship to the university of their choice, while our Ultimate Idol will also receive an all-expenses paid trip to any international competition, all these courtesy of PAGCOR. Pinoy Sports Idol awarded at the 2009 Philippine Sportswriters Association awards night




Pinoy Sports Idols, produced by Timeline Digital Production, Inc. and sponsored by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR), was acknowledged at the 2009 Philippine Sportswriters Association awards night for its continues contribution to the promotion of sports int the country. 

The awards night, which was held at the Manila Pavilion Hotel last February 20, 2009, was made possible through the cooperation of the San Miguel Corporation.

Ilocos Norte's Swimmer takes the title as Pinoy Sports Idol for its 8th season


Charisma and talent did the trick for swimmer Mark Joseph Paderon, 2nd year high school student from Ilocos Norte, proclaimed as the new ultimate Pinoy Sports Idol at the awarding ceremonies for the 8th season of Pinoy Sports Idols held at the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Paranaque branch last March 24.

Paderon defeated arnis player Nicko Bhara of Cagayan de Oro and soccer champion Jay-R de Jesus of Tuloy sa Don Bosco after garnering the highest number of points ushered from the viewer's text votes and judges' decision.


"It's okay to loose in sports as long as you loose like a champion" said the young Paderon showing his exceptional love of sports and immeasurable passion for winning. "I'm offering this award first of all, to God, to my family and to my inspiration."

The title gave Paderon full scholarship grant in any university of his choice and a chance to represent the country in an international sporting event, all provided by PAGCOR.

The PAGCOR Paranaque branch manager Valerio Santos, also congratulated the top three finalists for Pinoy Sports Idols by highlighting the importance of education and sports in gearing the youth towards a better future.

PAGCOR and Pinoy Sports Idols, hosted by TV Icon and taekwondo champion John Paul "Japoy" Lizardo and produced by Timeline Digital Productions, also awarded Bhara and de Jesus the same scholarship grant for being among the top three candidates from the twelve who also vied for the title.
